Artificial Intelligence Voucher: the grant to bring AI into your business
The Spanish Government has announced a €600 million voucher so SMEs and self-employed professionals can hire AI services. You can't apply yet. Here's what is known, what isn't, and how to get ahead before it opens.
Information as of 7 October 2026. The grant has been announced, with no call published yet.
What is already known
This is what the Government communicated when it presented Plan IA360 in September 2026.
Announced budget
This is the voucher's budget within Plan IA360, the Government's roadmap to speed up AI adoption across the economy.
Who it's for
That is the announced audience. Press reports mention around 25,000 companies as the target, a figure still to be confirmed once the rules are published.
How it would be paid
According to the announcement, the grant would be paid according to the milestones and targets each beneficiary meets, not simply for buying something.
What it would fund
The voucher is designed for AI services that transform your company's processes, not for buying isolated tools. As announced, it would cover things like:
- ✓ Development of custom AI agents.
- ✓ Integrating AI with the systems you already use.
- ✓ Sector knowledge: tailoring the solution to your type of business.
- ✓ Data processing and preparation.
- ✓ Redesigning processes to get the most out of AI.
Plain software licence subscriptions with no associated service would be left out. That is the announced approach; the final rules may refine it.
Want to move faster?
You don't have to wait for the grant to start. With a free diagnosis we look at which processes in your business can be automated first and how much time they would save you.
See our AI servicesWhat nobody knows yet
Until the regulatory rules are published, there is no official information on:
- ? How much it will give per company and what share of the project it will cover.
- ? The specific requirements to apply.
- ? Whether there will be accredited providers, like Kit Digital's digitalisation agents, or a catalogue of solutions.
- ? Which body will manage it and how applications will work.
- ? The opening date.
The timeline being discussed
According to published information, there would be a pilot with around 100 SMEs in two autonomous regions before the end of 2026 and an expansion in 2027, with the general call expected that year. These are planned dates, not official ones.
Beware of promises. Distrust anyone who today guarantees a specific amount or asks for your data or money to "reserve" the voucher: that information doesn't exist yet.
Is it the same as Kit Digital?
No. They are different programmes, and it's best not to mix them up.
Kit Digital
This is Red.es's digitalisation voucher programme, with a catalogue of solutions and digitalisation agents. The official Acelera pyme website states that its calls have ended; if they reopened, it would be announced there.
Artificial Intelligence Voucher
This is a new grant announced in Plan IA360 and focused on AI services. It has no call or rules yet, so nobody can apply for it at the moment.
Programmes for centres and associations
Red.es has a €40M line for AI use cases open until 10 November 2026, but it is applied for by business associations and technology centres, not directly by SMEs. An SME can benefit through them.
If someone offers you an "AI Kit Digital" or a voucher already granted, always check the information at acelerapyme.gob.es.
How to get ready today
When the rules are published, companies that already know what they want to automate will be several steps ahead.
Pick 2-3 processes
Customer service, quotes, invoicing, appointments, reports: wherever the most time is lost on repetitive tasks.
Organise your data
AI is only as useful as the information you give it: customers, products, FAQs, documents.
Get up to date
Public grants usually require being up to date with the tax authorities and Social Security. Check with your accountant.
Get help wisely
Talk to someone who explains what AI can and can't do in your business, without promising grants that don't exist yet.
We'll tell you when it opens
Leave your details and we'll write to you as soon as the rules are published: how much it covers, what the requirements are and how to apply. No commitment. If the programme includes accredited providers, we'll also tell you whether we can process it with you.
Frequently asked questions about the AI Voucher
No. The Government announced it as part of Plan IA360, but as of today no call or regulatory rules have been published. Any offer claiming otherwise deserves suspicion.
That isn't known yet. A total budget of €600 million has been announced, but the amount per company and the share it will cover will be set in the rules.
There is no official date. According to published information, there would be a pilot with around 100 SMEs before the end of 2026 and an expansion in 2027, with the general call expected that year.
As announced, no: the voucher would fund AI services that transform processes (agents, integrations, data processing, process redesign) and would exclude plain licence subscriptions.
No. Kit Digital is another Red.es programme with a catalogue of solutions and digitalisation agents, and its calls are listed as ended on Acelera pyme. The AI Voucher is a new grant with no call yet.
